Communist Daughter closes out WBEZ’s High Fidelity Summer Music Series with electrifying performance!

Seasons Greetings Everyone!  All of us here at Rooftop Sessions Chicago hope you are having a wonderful holiday season so far!  As a gift of our appreciation for your loyalty and support, we are thrilled to showcase Communist Daughter, a band we first became introduced to in March of 2013 as part of the SoFar Productions Musicians Series.  Last summer, we, along with meetingAV and Goose Island, were psyched to feature them on a larger stage as part of WBEZ’s High Fidelity Music Series.

The band, whose songwriting is a recollection of past troubles and addictions, of lost loves and lost chances, achieved a heart staking and triumphant victory with their eloquent performance atop the intimately lit Navy Pier Terrace and the calming waves of Lake Michigan aside.

Taking its name from the obvious, Rooftop Sessions Chicago is a local production group seeking to elevate the status of local musicians in and around the Chicago area and beyond. Pulling the artist out of the mainstream and placing them squarely above the normal performance environment, we seek to engage musicians in a new and fun way, and hopefully inspire something previously untapped in the artist.
