Christine Kent
About Christine Kent
Her guitar and voice have taken her throughout North America and Central America. She has played in Chicago, Atlanta’s Hard Rock Cafe, benefits and festival events around Atlanta – and all over the Midwest.
This stellar solo artist ‘accidentally’ wound up at a Chicago suburban night spot and blew away every band on stage at a Battle of the Bands in June 2010. One girl with a guitar…
Chicago’s North Side got a small taste of Christine’s music when she moved there immediately after college. She frequented places like Uncommon Ground, Hamburger Mary’s, and a handful of other local bars.
“I was in a transition period… my music and artistry hadn’t bloomed at all. I needed more life in my blood.”
Everything changed when she randomly stumbled upon a battle of the bands competition in the suburb she had grown up in. She played a total of 3 shows for the competition, bringing out larger and larger crowds as the shows went on. This started the fan base that eventually put her where she is today.
Today Christine lives in Chicago and sings and plays music as much as possible. This summer she’s been seen at Elbo Room, Fitzgerald’s Pub, Uncommon Ground, and almost every Wednesday night you can find her at the Hidden Shamrock open mic.
“The voice is what keeps bringing people back, I think… I love to write. It’s my release, my passion… but my voice is my instrument.”
